Creativity opens up locks – at least mental ones. A prison artist who had forgotten his creative skills for years, rediscovered them in art therapy organized and funded by Project Papillon. The art that followed led to the designs of this bandana scarf – partly based on his originals, partly inspired by his works. The therapy revived his dormant creativity, helped the inmate to express himself and boosted his self-esteem. It was a significant step towards rehabilitation.
These cotton bandanas are handmade one by one in the Vanaja Prison. They are all unique fashion items.
