Jeans, denim shirts and chambray shirts took over prisons in the early 1900s. Out went the classic striped uniforms. It’s a tradition that has lived in some prison systems to the present day. The change was brought forth by the growing number of non-violent, working class offenders. They influenced the general attitude within the prison system, which also led to redefining the concept of incarceration: from punishment to rehabilitation.
This is our interpretation of the durable classic working class denim shirt. It is made of 100 % organic cotton with county orange detail finishing.

* This item is inspired by prisoners like all pieces of Project Papillon. While some pieces are also made by inmates while doing time this one requires machinery and personnel that is not available in prisons. It has been crafted by a trusted partner in line with our code of ethics. Here we aspire the use of organic raw materials and production sites where good working conditions and reduced environmental impact are ensured.
